FTPCopy Output Modifications
The Modify Output options allow you to change some of the information produced by FSEarth before it is published.

Altitude Rounding
This option will round the displayed altitude to the nearest 100 feet when in flight. Rounding is not done when on the ground. (Rounds when GS>30) For some reason FSEarth is often off by 1 foot; this option will compensate for it.

Apply USA/Canada TA Correction to Flight Level
This option corrects the altitude strings from "FL100" through "FL180" to make them read in FEET. Apparently the Author of FSEarth thinks (as do most people) that a "Flight Level" is just the altitude divided by 100 and you use it when 10,000 feet or higher. Although it is the altitude divided by 100 ... "Flight Level" means the aircraft is above [Barometric Pressure] Transition Altitude ("TA") and has their altimeter set for QNH (29.92) instead of the local barometric pressure. In the US and Canada the TA is 18,000 feet.

Add Text to Name-Tag
This option allows you to add your name (or other text) to the name tag near your aircraft (without confusing FTPCopy.) The Text you want added to the name tag should be entered in the text box to the right of this option.

EXAMPLE: If you set Own Aircraft Label in FSEarth to "FDX2000" the original tag from FSEarth will read "FDX2000 FL250 GS490" .... if you turn on this option and enter "John" in the text box then the name tag next to your aircraft icon will read "FDX2000 (John) FL250 GS490"

The reason this is here is that FTPCopy expects the name tag from FSEarth to be [AircraftID] [Altitude] [GroundSpeed] so adding extra text can cause FTPCopy not to find the altitude, or be able to dynamically load descriptions.

Add Snippet Line
This Option adds what Google Earth Describes as a "Snippet" to the aircraft Icon. Basically it is a second line of text that is displayed (only) in the sidebar of Google Earth. When using this option, set the text you wish as the Snippet in the text box at the bottom right side of FTPCopy.

Add Description on Mouse Click
Most Icons and Places in Google Earth can be clicked which will cause a balloon to pop up with information and links. This option allows you to add such a pop-up balloon to your aircraft icon. (So that when your aircraft icon is clicked, one of these Google Earth information balloons will be shown with your description text, pictures etc.)

FTPCopy stores the descriptions as text files in the FTPCopy folder of Your Documents. By Default, FTPCopy uses the file "descr.txt" but you can create other description files. You can edit the files with notepad or any plain-text editor, or just use the built in editor of FTPCopy. Although Google Earth Descriptions do support some HTML It is NOT recommended to try using an html editor on the description files as GE only supports a small number of tags.

You can select the description file to be used when uploading in the File Menu at the top of FTPCopy. (Open File)

Dynamically Load Description
This option causes FTPCopy to look for a description text with the same name as the "Own Aircraft Label" in FSEarth's General Settings, and use that file to create the pop-up balloon in Google Earth.

EXAMPLE: You have three description text files (not counting the default) named "FDX2000" which describes a 747 and has a picture of one in FedEx paint... the second file is "FDX3000" and describes an Airbus 321 (with picture of one) ... and "N102Y" which describes a Cessna 182 (with picture of one.) .... When the Dynamic Load option is set, changing the "Own Aircraft Label" text in FSEarth to "FDX3000" will cause FTPCopy to automatically load and use the FDX3000 description.

Add Icon List Link
Checking this will add to the balloon a hyperlink to the Map Icons List . ("See [Map Key] for complete icon list")

Add Refresh Time
Adds a text to the bottom of the baloon telling how often the link is refreshed.

Adding Pictures to your Description Bubble
You can add a picture of your aircraft (or anything you want a picture of) by using a standard <IMG SRC="filename.jpg"> HTML Tag. If only the filename is specified then Google Earth will try to locate the picture file in the same web location as the KML file came from. You can upload pictures to the same directory as the KML file from FTPCopy's File Menu. Google Earth does support most image formatting tags, such as alignment and resizing.
